Whether you're cleaning up old software that you never use or you need to free up storage on your computer (because it is running so darn slow!), uninstalling programs is something that every computer owner should do every few months. Device running slow? Remove those unwanted items!
The exact way to uninstall a program depends on whether you're on a Windows or Mac computer and which version of Windows you're using.
If you're using Windows, there are multiple ways to uninstall a program:
• Right-click on an application's name in the Start menu and select "Uninstall."
• If you don't see the application listed under the Start menu, right-click the Start button and select "Control Panel." Depending on how your Control Panel is configured, you should now click on "Programs and Features" or "Uninstall a Program." Finally, look through the list to find the program you want to uninstall, select it, and click the "Uninstall" button.
On the other hand, if you're uninstalling a program on a Mac computer, the solution is straightforward. Drag the program's icon within your Applications folder to the Trash, right-click on the Trash icon, select "Empty Trash" and confirm that you want to remove the program. A simple, resourceful way to maintain (or improve) the health of your computer or tablet. Done and Done.
